It is true that some isolated incidents of common crime have occurred, but thanks to the prompt intervention of the authorities, the situation is under control and criminal activities do not affect the sector where the conference will take place.b Besides, this place is highly maintained and is the place of many hotels and restaurants, including the venue hotel and also the embassies of the UnitedKingdom and Germany. Its facilities comply with all safety regulations and arefrequent venues for United Nations and government events.
It is essential to highlight that the Ecuadorian government has implemented amore robust security plan, and we are already seeing positive results. We hopethat in 15 days there will be greater tranquility, especially in the cities mentionedabove.
