PRESS RELEASE: Ecuador to Host One of the World's Most Significant Academic Events on Social Responsibility


From April 3 to 6, 2024, the Ecuadorian capital, Quito, will be the venue for theTwenty-First International Conference of the Social Responsibility ResearchNetwork (SRRNet), a high-level academic event, one of the most important in theworld in this subject, co-organized by the Universidad Estatal de Milagro (UNEMI).The conference will focus on discussing synergies, contradictions, and challengesbetween the theory and practice of social responsibility.

For the second time in Latin America, this space will be the ideal setting foracademic speakers of significant trajectory, such as David Crowther, President ofSRRNet and Head of the Organizational Governance Research Center at theUniversity of Montfort, United Kingdom. Throughout his professional career,Crowther has published over 40 books and contributed to more than 400 articlesin academic, business, and professional journals, as well as book collections.Together with other researchers from Ecuador, Latin America, and the world, hewill share experiences and explore current tensions in the implementation ofsocial responsibility from various theoretical and practical organizationalperspectives.

The work carried out by SRRNet over more than 20 years has allowed anunderstanding of the different realities of societies on all continents, contributingto the transfer of valuable experiences with the aim of replicating them andachieving a more sustainable and socially responsible world.

For this new edition of the high-level academic event, topics related to CorporateSocial Responsibility and Sustainability, Governance and Sustainability, Net Zeroand its challenges, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and SustainableDevelopment Goals (SDGs), Climate change and businesses, Ethics, transparency,accountability, and other sustainability reporting parameters, Human rights andbusiness sustainability, among others, can be addressed.
