PRESS RELEASE 03: Ecuador to host significant events during 2024

Due to its organizational capacity and the determined efforts of public, private, and academic authorities, Ecuador will be the venue for highly significant events throughout the year 2024. These include the Twenty-First International Conference of the Social Responsibility Research Network (SRRNet), a high-level academic event hosted by the Universidad Estatal de Milagro (UNEMI), and the Ibero-American Summit of Presidents and Heads of State to be held in November of this year.

These two events have captured the attention of national and international figures who will arrive in Ecuador to be part of them. The Twenty-First Conference will take place from April 3 to 6 at the Sheraton Hotel in Quito. This gathering, facilitated by UNEMI, provides an ideal space for national and international experts, professionals, educators, and students to share experiences and discuss the roles of sustainability, artificial intelligence, and technology in social responsibility.

This prestigious academic event is taking place in Ecuador for the first time and only the second time in South America. For 20 years, SRRNet has been organizing its conferences uninterruptedly across all continents, carrying the flag of social responsibility worldwide.

Additionally, the Minister of Tourism, Niels Olsen, announced through his X account that Adventure Elevate 2024 will be hosted in the Ecuadorian capital, Quito, from May 6 to 8. This event will bring together people, operators, and technicians from Ecuador and around the world, including agents, video specialists, and international press who will contribute their expertise.

Furthermore, Cuenca will host the Ibero-American Summit of Presidents and Heads of State in November of this year. This was announced by the President of the Republic, Daniel Noboa, during his visit to the capital of Azuay in December 2023.

Hosting these significant events indicates that security is improving in the country, and the trust coming from abroad has been crucial to proceed as planned. In statements made by the Ecuadorian president on Telemadrid during his recent visit to Spain, he highlighted the great work of the Armed Forces and the National Police in regaining control of security in the country. He invited tourists from around the world to visit Ecuador.

President Noboa added that the country is returning to normalcy due to various security-related restrictions. He emphasized that there are tourist cantons in Ecuador where there are no circulation restrictions. In the Sierra region, where Quito and Cuenca are located, in-person classes have already resumed in schools, colleges, and universities.

The actions taken by the National Government are providing reassurance to Ecuadorians who will be the hosts and will welcome international visitors with the utmost hospitality at these important events.
